Hey Tom, thanks for inventing the Post-It-Note. They came in handy when I invented the INTERNET!!

My pleasure Rick. Where'd your hair go, dude?

On the OHS reunion, I have no idea what they're up to. But they can get organized and create their own site using this platform too. Down at the very bottom right there's a link to the engine underneath this site. They give you a lot of nice Admin tools to build things out.

Here's how this site came to be:

Rachel discovered this, and built the look & feel of this site all by herself. The colors, layout, panther, Permian picture, text--she did all of it. Then I uploaded the names, set up the domain, scanned, cut & uploaded all of the images from the yearbook, worked on the content coding here & there and added some features. Those images took me 3 solid days and my wife was about ready to do an intervention. Rachel's husband Kevin was on the verge of doing the same with her as we were e-mailing each other at 1 a.m. my time...

We had a terrific head start on the names because I was able to grep them from permian.net, and then Craig took that and made an excellent spreadsheet with that info as well as info he gleaned from the yearbook. Then Elizabeth & Rachel went to work cleaning it up and updating it--a process that continues to this day as we continue to find people. If you can get your names, addresses, etc, into a special CSV spreadsheet they provide, you just upload that and BANG! Everybody's loaded in. We're using a shared spreadsheet on Google Docs which works great for us. All I had to do was copy the right fields over to the special sheet and in less than 20 seconds, this site had everyone loaded much to my surprise.

So this site was definitely a team effort.

And now, the best part of all is how all of you classmates are loading this baby up with your stories and pictures.

As for building this site, it's free until you decide to buy the domain like we did--and even then it's only 19 bucks a year (I paid $8 extra on top of that to keep my personal info in the registration private). I'm probably going to help my wife start setting up one for her class from Tulsa. But they need to get their list together--otherwise you have to hand type people in, one by one.

Well Tom, I've gained so much wisdom that it pushed the hair out of the way to make room. If it wasn't for my humility I would be completely bald.

Tom, what school did your wife go to in Tulsa? I went my sophmore year at Will Rogers High. My sister graduated from Thomas A. Edison Prep.

Marie, my wife went to Tulsa Edison. We met at a Super Bowl party in 2000 while both of us were at OU.

I have to add that this whole reunion started with one email from Craig Thompson about 1 month ago asking if I knew anything about a 30th reunion. A few phone calls and emails later....Here we are!
Please help us find our missing classmates- look at the list and email one of us.
'79 ROCKS!

Tom, I guess your wife is probably younger than my sister, who graduated Edison in '72, but what elementary did she attend? I went to Oliver Wendell Holmes. I would have gone to Edison. I am wondering if she knows any people I knew.

I love you, you love me, we're a great big catastrophy.
But this is great and the reunion will be too.
I can't wait to see all of you!

( what rhymes with catastrohpy?)

Keep your day job, Boren. I don't think you have the tools to make it in the RAP world unless you pipe some better rhymes than that one. (kidding)

Happy Birthday to Mark Boren. Hope you have a great day!
Go out and have some fun today!

What fun looking at everyone's profile and those that have posted pics! I am so impressed - everyone, EVERYONE looks awesome and what exciting hobbies - Wendy doing karate, Laurie Wyman and motocross and Pam and Gene on motorcycles - I need to find an exciting hobby before July! Rachel, Tom, Elizabeth, Craig, etc. GREAT JOB and THANK YOU.

As if I don't waste enough time on this site anyway, now you've gone and added "Play Pong"! Whose idea was that?!
I'm only kidding about wasting time - this site is a great idea.

Just a quick shout out from Canada. Wanted to Thank Tom and Rachel and everyone who worked on this site and everyone working on the reunion.

I know for me it is hard to believe it will be 30 years since we inhabited the halls of Permian. We've all moved on and grown in our lives yet through it all there is a common bond that keeps us all linked. The Spirit and Camaraderie that was nourished during the years we spent together.

As I gaze upon the pictures that look so familiar and the names I knew from so many years ago I am amazed at the changes that we have all undergone. Somehow I expect to see the same people from the Senior pictures because it feels like we should be timeless.

I'm grateful for the chance to reconnect and interact with you all again!

Gayla Parker-Neufeld

Snuck the Pong in on ya, Debra. The other games like Pac Man & Donkey Kong all came out after we left high school, so I guess Pong was state-of-the-art for us...

Gayla, as I look at all of the pictures, I'm struck by how old everybody else is getting (unlike me, of course).

Stacie, Last I heard (from Mandy Snead) that Lori was living in Corpus. I do not know any more than that.

I have to say... Tom, sweetheart you are my hero, BUT, you are just as old as the rest of us!! lol And yes pong was state of the art and I remember it well. It was the only way I could play tennis! LMAO I didn't have to chase the balls!!
Seriously, the pics & update on everyones profiles and the messages are great! Wonderful therapy and free!!
lol

Thanks again Tom et al.

love ya maaann! kitt

Hey Daniel and Stacie, my info is that Lori Snead Maldonado is in Corpus Christi. Her home number is unlisted but I was able to get a number for her husband's office and I left a message for him there with the secretary.

Thanks Elizabeth for directing me to this site.
Thanks Tom for including me. Most of those that I remember are really from the days at Bonham, since I left Permian sophmore year.
I have already gotten a few responses from some that I knew. What a joy to be able to see what everyone is up to and what they have accomplished. A few surprising and some...well you just knew that they were gonna do great things!

I'm sure many of you Bonham alumni will remember Mr. Seabolt. He taught Algebra. He passed away a couple of days ago. While I didn't really enjoy ANY math classes, I do remember him as being one of the best teachers - I actually learned something in his class! For someone with little affinity for math, I managed to pull a high B in that class - thanks to Mr. Seabolt's effective teaching. I also remember him for his dry humor, totally lost on a teenager, but appreciated in hindsight.
