ODESSA: Melinda Lee Strong Waddington, 42, of Odessa, a highway department employee, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at her residence. She was born in Odessa. She was Lutheran.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
SURVIVORS: Husband, James Waddington of Austin; and son, Brandon Waddington of Austin.

I saw Melinda a few months before she died at her own mother's funeral. Many of you remember Mary Strong as Mrs. Strong our English teacher at Permian. Melinda did not look well at that time although she did not know she was ill. She had said life did not go quite the way she had planned. But she still had that sassy little smile. I know she is at peace from what tormented her here on earth.
