In Memory

Donna Castleberry (Hazard)

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Donna Lee Hazard, 62, of Odessa, TX, entered eternal rest returning to her heavenly home on August 19, 2023. She was born on March 1, 1961, in Hobbs, NM to W.L and Gwendolyn (Turner) Castleberry.

She was an avid animal lover. She cherished her time spent with her cats (Mickey, Batman, Weezer Jones, Ernie Frank and Puddin Head). She had a turtle resort in her backyard and enjoyed watching and feeding her turtles every day. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes for family events. Most of all, she put her faith and trust in the Lord. She never ceased praying and rejoicing in all his glory. She was always willing to share the word of God with whomever would listen, and often talked about how eager she was to meet him face to face one day.

She attended Permian High School and Odessa College. She later pursued a career at DCA, Ref Chem and was currently employed at Cashway in Odessa, TX.

As a mother, Donna’s memory lives on through her son, Chad Payne, Casey (Randy) Alexander, and Nicole (Taylor) Stein. Her love transcends through her grandchildren; Colton Pence, Ashlee (Boudre) Williams, Christian & Catelyn Alexander, Reid, Brooklyn, and Chandler Stein; great granddaughters, Haveyn & Alayina Williams. She is also survived by her brother, Darrell Castleberry and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donna now rests in the embrace of God, joining her parents (Gwen & Leroy Castleberry) and her sister, Debra Minchey, who preceded her in death.
