LEE: Cheryl Frances McAllister Murphy, 51, of Lee, N.H., passed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 after a courageous 12-year battle with breast cancer. Born in Bryan, Texas on August 25, 1960 to William and Patricia Michalka; Cheryl grew up in Odessa, Texas with her two sisters.

She moved to New Hampshire after the birth of her daughter in 1988 and gave birth to her second daughter in 1992. She was a loving mother to both girls, and later a wonderful stepmother to a son and three more daughters after remarrying in 2003.
She was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999 while living in Indiana and raising her two young daughters.

After her first remission, she returned to school and earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from MCPHS and began working as a Physician Assistant at Manchester Urology Associates. She treated patients at the Elliot and Wentworth-Douglass Hospitals. She was known among her patients and co-workers as an incredibly warm-hearted, dedicated, and generous woman. Even during the struggle with her illness she continued to impact the lives of all those around her at work, home, and throughout the community with her unfailing strength and kindness.

She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband Patrick Murphy III, daughter Jennifer McAllister and her fiancé Kenton Fulmer, daughter Dana McAllister, stepson Patrick Murphy IV, stepdaughter Kelsey Loomis and husband Jeremy Loomis, stepdaughter Eileen Murphy, stepdaughter Reilly Murphy, sisters Cynthia Jackson and Catherine Figert, ex-husband and father of her daughters Jeffery McAllister, and especially by her beloved Yorkie who never left her side, Casey.

Memorial contributions may be made in Cheryl’s name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.

A funeral mass will be held at her parish, St Thomas More, in Durham, NH at 11:15 Thursday, December 22, 2011 with a reception to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Rd., Lee, NH.
